Swapping switches on the SWORL is easy
How to swap switches on the SWORL:
You will need a key switch puller. These can be found on amazon or other keyboard websites.
Turn off and unplug: Always power down and unplug your device before making any changes. This keeps you safe and avoids damaging your controller.
Remove the Keycaps: For the left side - gently use a keycap puller if you have one. For the circular keycaps, you can just lift them off by hand. This exposes the switches below.
Position the puller correctly: Place the metal or plastic “arms” of the switch puller around the top housing of the switch.
Squeeze and Pull: Press in gently, then pull straight up. The switch should come out of the hot-swap socket without too much force.
Check the pins: Most MX-style switches have two small metal pins. Make sure they’re straight before inserting them, so they don’t bend or break (don't forget this).
Align the switch: Look at your controller’s socket and match the pins of the switch with the holes in the socket.
Press Down Gently: Push the new switch in until it sits flush with the board and seats into the switch plate. You shouldn’t have to use a lot of force. You will hear it snap into place on the plate as well.
Once you’ve swapped all the switches, plug in your controller and do a quick test. Make sure each button presses feel right and that every switch registers correctly.
Finally, pop your keycaps back on, and you’re all set!
