Hollow Knight on the SWORL: A Leverless Metroidvania Layout
Hollow Knight is a precision platformer at heart: pogoing off spikes, dashing through gaps and focusing mid-fight. meow shared the SWORL profile they played with. Check it out below on a steam deck!

Why leverless works for Hollow Knight
Digital movement is perfect for a 2D game, and leverless inputs are exact. Down-slash pogos, up-slashes and spell directions come out clean every time, with no diagonal misreads.
Layout notes
Check the diagram for exact placement. If you tweak it, keep jump, attack, dash and focus/cast under your strongest fingers and put Super Dash and Dream Nail on the leftovers. Precise pogo sections like the White Palace are where leverless really shines.

How to import a SWORL layout
- Download the .json file above, or copy the code into a text file and save it with a .json extension.
- Open the file in a text editor and change the
"profile"value to the slot you want, minus one (Profile 1 = 0, Profile 5 = 4), so you don't overwrite an existing profile. - Open the SWORL configurator, connect your SWORL and import the file.
