Super Smash Bros. Ultimate on the SWORL: Grab on WASD and Easy Smash Attacks
JFA Staff
Smash has deep in-game remapping, so almost any SWORL layout can work. The HarDe One reuses the Super Mario Odyssey profile and finishes the job in Smash's controls menu.

Key choices
- Grab on WASD: no natural spot existed on the right-hand bank, so grab moved to the left-hand cluster. Your right hand stays in one position for every input.
- Smash attacks: the SWORL's Attack + Special macro makes smash attacks easier than on a GameCube controller.
- Confirm/cancel stay in standard Xbox/PlayStation positions for menus.
Getting comfortable
Expect a couple of weeks to match your GameCube muscle memory, and experiment with left-stick sensitivity for walk vs. dash. The in-game control screen screenshot shows the exact Smash binds.

How to import a SWORL layout
- Download the .json file above, or copy the code into a text file and save it with a .json extension.
- Open the file in a text editor and change the
"profile"value to the slot you want, minus one (Profile 1 = 0, Profile 5 = 4), so you don't overwrite an existing profile. - Open the SWORL configurator, connect your SWORL and import the file.
