Super Mario Odyssey on the SWORL: A Clean Nintendo Switch Layout
JFA Staff
The HarDe One designed this profile for Super Mario Odyssey and uses it for Smash Ultimate too. The guiding rule: never make menus harder to navigate just to improve gameplay.

The changes
- A and B swapped so confirm/cancel match Xbox and PlayStation positions.
- X and Y swapped for uniform appearance, so X sits above A and Y above B.
- Shoulders swapped with triggers. L/R only reset the camera in Odyssey, so ZL/ZR (crouch, the all-important ground-pound, long-jump and backflip button) moves to the easier top-row position.
- Icon-less face buttons, so Nintendo's reversed labels never confuse you.
Why it works
Odyssey is basically a four-button game: two jumps that double as confirm/cancel, a Cappy throw, and crouch. With crouch on the top row, long jumps, backflips and dive-cap-jumps become quick finger rolls.

How to import a SWORL layout
- Download the .json file above, or copy the code into a text file and save it with a .json extension.
- Open the file in a text editor and change the
"profile"value to the slot you want, minus one (Profile 1 = 0, Profile 5 = 4), so you don't overwrite an existing profile. - Open the SWORL configurator, connect your SWORL and import the file.
