Siliconera Reviews the Snack Box MICRO: Tiny, Mighty and a New Favorite
Siliconera’s Joel Couture went in worried the Snack Box MICRO would be too small to play on. He had been using a much larger all-button controller. By the end of his review, the size was the thing he liked best.
“It’s easily my favorite fight stick”
— Joel Couture, Siliconera
Why the small size helped
- Your hands always know where they are. On a big panel he kept drifting a button too far left or right. On the MICRO he could feel the corners of the case under his palms and correct right away.
- Hard buttons got reachable. He credits the layout with finally landing Roman Cancels and Bursts in Guilty Gear Strive.
- You can reposition it. Playing from his lap, he could angle the controller slightly to make half-circle motions like Potemkin Buster reliable.
- The keycaps hold your fingers. He praised the concave caps for their light grip and soft press.

One controller for every system
The review points out that the MICRO replaced several platform-specific sticks in his house, since it works across PlayStation, Xbox, Switch, PC and Steam Deck. He also liked the button LEDs as a learning tool: glance down and you can see which input you actually pressed.
What they would change
His only real complaint was the six-foot cable, which was short for his room. The MICRO uses USB-C, so a longer cable is an easy swap. We sell a 9 ft MICRO cable for exactly that.
