Armored Core VI on the SWORL: Full Weapon Control While You Boost

JFA Staff

"Your mission, Raven, is to test our S.W.O.R.L. control scheme." In Armored Core VI all four weapons live on the shoulders and triggers, which is exactly where a standard pad is weakest. Josid fixed that by swapping the face buttons with the triggers and shoulders.

The core idea

Left arm, right arm, left back and right back weapons all move onto the main button bank, so you can fire any combination while dashing around. Boost and Quick Boost go under the pinky, which felt good and not strenuous across a two-hour session. You can swap Boost and Quick Boost if you prefer.

Why it works in AC6

AC6 fights are about managing stagger and ammo while never stopping. With weapons on the fingers and camera on the right dome, you can Assault Boost into range, Quick Boost out of a charged shot, and dump both arm weapons without taking your thumb off the aim.

How to import a SWORL layout

  1. Download the .json file above, or copy the code into a text file and save it with a .json extension.
  2. Open the file in a text editor and change the "profile" value to the slot you want, minus one (Profile 1 = 0, Profile 5 = 4), so you don't overwrite an existing profile.
  3. Open the SWORL configurator, connect your SWORL and import the file.
