Hyper hop on a leverless controller
Hold Forward. Tap Down, then tap Up right after it and let go fast. Down must be released before Up lands.
- Press Down + Forward.
- Press Forward + Up.
- Let go of every direction (neutral).
Watch it slowed down, then press Try it and do it yourself with a controller or your keyboard (A, S, D and Space, or the arrow keys). Timing is not frame-accurate. The animation shows the order of presses; check exact timing in your game's training mode. The animation assumes the Capcom/Neutral SOCD mode (Left + Right = Neutral, Up + Down = Neutral), which is how the MICRO and SWORL ship. Game and character names belong to their owners.
Pro notes: Hyper hop
Notation 3, 9. Directions are written for a character facing right.
Keys you press vs what the game reads
Top row: the buttons you hold. Bottom row: the direction the game receives. No opposing directions are held together in this input, so every SOCD mode reads it the same way; diagonals are two keys read as one direction.

Set the mode by holding a direction while you plug in: Up = Capcom/Neutral, Left = Up priority, Down = Last priority, Right = None. Check yours in the controller tester.
Frame and timing notes
- Dream Cancel (KOF XV): hyper hop is press Down, then tap Up lightly within 14F. The Up tap must last 4F or less, or it becomes a normal or hyper jump.
- Hit Box's method holds Down and taps Up, which relies on Up priority (Classic) SOCD. In the shipping Capcom/Neutral mode Up + Down reads as neutral, so release Down before the Up tap, as the steps here show.
Leverless tips for the Hyper hop

- Keep Forward held with your index finger. Tap Down with your middle finger, then Up with your thumb right after.
