Dragon punch (SOCD method) on a leverless controller
Hold Forward, press Back and Down together (it reads as Down), then let go of Back and punch.
- Press Forward.
- Press Forward + Back + Down. The game reads Down.
- Press Forward + Down with Square (Punch).
Watch it slowed down, then press Try it and do it yourself with a controller or your keyboard (A, S, D and Space, or the arrow keys). Timing is not frame-accurate. The animation shows the order of presses; check exact timing in your game's training mode. The animation assumes the Capcom/Neutral SOCD mode (Left + Right = Neutral, Up + Down = Neutral), which is how the MICRO and SWORL ship. Game and character names belong to their owners.
Pro notes: Dragon punch (SOCD method)

Set the mode by holding a direction while you plug in: Up = Capcom/Neutral, Left = Up priority, Down = Last priority, Right = None. Check yours in the controller tester.
Frame and timing notes
- Keys you press: 6, then 6+4+2, then 6+2 with P. What the game reads: 6, 2, 3 + P. Back and Forward cancel to neutral, leaving Down.
- Needs Back + Forward = neutral, so it works in Capcom/Neutral and Up priority (Classic) modes, not in Last priority or None.

Leverless tips for the Dragon punch (SOCD method)
The finger map used here: ring finger on Back, middle finger on Down, index finger on Forward, right thumb on Up.
- Hold Forward with your index finger the whole time. Back + Down + Forward reads as Down, because Back and Forward cancel.
- Let go of Back and press Punch. The game now sees Down-Forward and finishes the motion.
